The top of the range walking pole, with multiple height adjustments mean these can be quickly assembled and taken apart for ease of transport. Wrist strap also adjustable to length, poles feel sturdy in use. One star deducted because these are sold without rubber end pieces (available for an extra £2.99): a bit weird when the £10 version is sold with them attached
Poles took a little getting used too, loosing the bottom section in bushes etc as I'd not tightened them enough (my fault) Anti-shock worked a treat and cannot slate them, but however one of the titanium tip came out and the pole was worn down and will be returned as that should never have happened!
How to activate/deactivate antishock spring mechanism??
Thank you for your review of the Forclaz 500 anti-shock pole. To engage or disengage the spring you need to twist the pole in the direction of the lock and unlock symbol on the pole itself (once the pole has been secured). If this isn't clear please pop into your local Decathlon where one of our trekking experts will be at hand to show you, otherwise please get in touch and i will be able to talk you through it step by step.

My parents-in-law bought two poles for me as a Christmas gift but they do not tighten at all - they unscrew but the sections come apart - should they have springs in as mine do not.
Great value product

The anti shock is not working
Light weight pole comes with 3 telescopic collapsible design, Comfortable knob and grip with Soft wrist-strap will help you in all terrain.anti- Shock system Helping in absorbing sudden jerks on joints and best part about anti shock you can deactivate whenever you want.
For normal rocky climbes may work- but for snow trails it is not of much use. I would not recommend.
My first time using a trekking pole, used them on the 4 day Kedarkantha Winter trek. They really help distribute weight and save your knees and ankes from extra pressure. The ascent and descent portions of the trek both became relatively easy. Also inspite of a few rough uses the poles survived intact through the trekm would give a thumbs up for the durability of the product. Also the springs in them help in impact shock absorption. Would recommend to use the correctly after viewing a couple of usage videos which will help you adjust the poles correctly and then you can enjoy the maximum benefits. I used a pair of these, some prefer using a single pole.

This model is entirely designed and approved by our team, at the foot of Mont Blanc. To fulfil the anti-shock promise, we have chosen this system with a spring integrated in the screw tightening system. We then designed a handle that enables powerful and comfortable grip whatever the position: along the tube for climbs and banking terrain, with the wrist-strap for efficient pushing and on the knob for descents.
Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To adjust the length: unscrew the middle section, find the size of the pole you need and screw back tightly. Tighten more if you notice that the pole shortens as you use it. Do the same with the lower section.Never go over the STOP line to avoid breaking the pole.
These hiking poles are designed to help you balance, propel yourself and spread the effort between the arms and legs.To increase safety, check your pole's locking mechanism by pressing down hard on it before you start and at regular intervals.Do not attach to your backpack in stormy weather.
Maintaining your poles properly enables you to maintain optimal function and increase their lifespan. After use, if water has got into the pole, take the parts apart and allow to dry. Clean any dust and mud with water or without, with a soft brush or paintbrush.Once dry, you can reassemble the parts. We recommend that you do not try to oil or grease them.
At Decathlon, we decided to sell our hiking/trekking poles individually. On the one hand, for usage reasons. Some people only want to use one pole. This therefore meets their needs. On the other hand, if one of your poles breaks, this means you only have to buy one and not a complete pair.
