We use these for Scouts - both for walking, and making tarp shelters. For a fiver, you can't go wrong!
Great poles at a great PRICE used on west highland WAY scotland
I purchased these to try out walking poles. They were the cheapest in store. I completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge yesterday using these poles. Usually by the time I'm descending Ingleborough (the final peak), I am experiencing knee pain, yesterday I had none. I would imagine you could buy more expensive ones but these were great to try out poles for the first time. I will certainly using them again. Two notes: 1. These poles don't have straps so rely on your grip. I didn't find this a problem. 2. Due to the design, they whistle when wind blows through the holes. I didn't find it a problem. For a fiver apiece they are hard to beat.
I have back trouble and these poles have had such a positive impact for walking on the beach etc which I can now do regularly.
Great pole at a great price , lightweight and easy to store away
Excellent product for the price and easy to manage or handle
Can’t beat it for the price
Great value for money snd feels good quality
Wanted something light to cope with tricky balance moments like crossing streams. Once you get the hang of the adjustment for length, these give a very positive support because the click os strong
Good for simple walking excursions, but would be improved if there was an cover for the tip for use in urban locations
Fantastic price for a set of walking poles. I took them for their first outing yesterday. Great light weight walking poles. However, the holes in the sides were whistling in the wind which was quite annoying. I'll just tape the holes up next time. Im not sure how durable they'll be.
Took 2 of these to India with me whilst hiking up the Himalayas and they where perfect! Small enough to fit in my rucksac but sturdy enough to use for the week hikking and then i handed them off to an australian group to use again! Wee life savers and worked a treat dont know what i would have done with out them!!!
I bought these for a strenuous hiking holiday, doing the Inca Trail - I thought it was a bit of a gamble because of the low price, but they served me really well and were very sturdy! Easy to adjust too. Just bear in mind that they don't come with the plastic caps for the ends, so if you want those you will need to buy separately (Decathlon also sell these cheaply)
Fit for the job
been a long distance hiker for 35 years, never bothered with trekking poles before..bought a pair of these beauties and realised what I've been missing...best tenner ever spent!
- 100% Aluminium
- 100% Polyurethane
Fully designed and validated by our team. Why have we chosen the Push-pin? Some users do not want to make adjusting their poles more complicated than it needs to be. This system is simple, reliable, light and cheap. Why are the tubes oversize? Because this model is designed for walkers who need to be reassured about their reliability. Why a straight foam handle? Because our field tests have shown that comfort is better than with a plastic handle.
Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To adjust the length: press the button to release it from the hole, slide the tube until the button reaches the hole at the desired length.Use the line printed on the lower tube to align the button with the holes.Never go over the STOP line to avoid breaking the pole.
These hiking poles are designed to help you balance, propel yourself and spread the effort between the arms and legs.To increase safety, before you start and at regular intervals, check your pole's locking mechanism by pressing down hard on it.Do not attach to your backpack in stormy weather.
Maintaining your poles properly enable you to maintain optimal function and increases their lifespan. After use, if water has got into the pole, take the parts apart and allow to dry. Clean any dust and mud with water or without, with a soft brush or paintbrush.Once dry, you can reassemble the parts. We recommend that you do not try to oil or grease them.
At Decathlon, we have decided to sell our hiking/trekking poles individually. First because of how they are used. Indeed, some people only want to use one pole. This meets their needs.Second, because if one of your poles breaks, you can buy only one pole rather than a pair.
