Don't Use as a Cycling Liner Glove

Adds a reasonable amount of warmth as a cycling liner glove but both gloves literally falling apart at the seams after a few months use.

Layer up!

These under-gloves make any gloves warmer. I wear them under cycling and skiing gloves on the coldest days and they work really well. Also very dexterous so still keep your hands warm when your outer gloves are removed - great for phone use or doing something fiddly. Not really designed as an outer glove so would wear out quickly if worn on their own.

Hole in finger within 2 days

I really wanted to love these gloves. The wool is warm when used in combination with thicker over gloves and the index and thumb are great to use with a touchscreen; however, after using for two days a small hole appeared at the end of the index finger (my nails are clipped short), which has since grown so that the end of the finger is no longer contained. Really disappointed in the durability. I think the fabric composition (wool content) needs to be refined for durability, perhaps also adding reinforcement at the fingertips.

Great fit - Use all the time

The sizing is great, and they fit perfectly. I am using them everyday at the moment, not just when camping. They fit well under my sealskins. The touchscreen bits do work, but not always, and it's generally quicker to just take them off. They're not all that soft, but when used in combo with outer gloves, they definitely add the extra warmth. Wouldn't be without them now, and they're only £10!

Merino Glove Liners

Purchased these to provide extra warmth on really cold cycling commutes as I suffer with Reynauds/circulation issues in my fingers. These really help when worn beneath my thick cold weather cycling gloves.

Excellent gloves

I have Raynaud's syndrome so I needed some gloves that I can wear on chilly days without losing dexterity. This are perfect thin, enough to not be cumbersome but still warm. Highly recommended

Light thin but extremely warm.

Uneuseful for me, no warmth provided

Even though it was mild spring weather when I used them, my hands were freezing, hence I considered them unuseful and returned them as quick as possible.

What does the dexterity of a glove refer to?

The dexterity of a glove is its ability to handle objects with ease. Our liner gloves have been given a score from 1 to 5 in a laboratory study. The closer the score is to 5, the easier it is to handle objects as if you weren't wearing gloves. In particular, tests were done to measure how easily it is to get a jacket on and open it with these liner gloves.

When worn under hiking gloves, these liner gloves will give you 3°C of additional warmth. This corresponds to the ambient temperature at which 100% of testers felt comfortable. For better protection, we recommend that you wear gloves over the liner glove.

How is usage temperature measured?

All our gloves are laboratory-tested using a thermal hand to determine their level of insulation and minimum temperature rating. The minimum temperatures for use (recommended and limit) are the result of a study carried out with a test panel of 23 walkers exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and 10 km/h winds. These temperatures are only valid in walking conditions.

How to properly protect your hands from the cold

By applying the layering principle, you can optimise the insulation of your hands. Consequently, by wearing liner gloves in addition to gloves, several air gaps are created around your hands, which provide effective insulation from the cold. To achieve this, the gloves must be big enough not to compress your fingers. This is because the compression slows down the blood flow in the fingers, which prevents them from keeping warm.

How to keep your hands warm with the right clothing

When active, the body generates heat which is preserved thanks to the thermal insulation of your clothing. If the clothing is inadequate, your body cools and the blood flow to the hands and feet drops in order to keep your upper body warm. Your clothing can therefore play a role in keeping your hands warm.

Origin of the wool

We use wool from merino sheep bred on farms in South Africa that do not practise mulesing. We built a partnership with a group of breeders (Konsortium Merino) to guarantee respect for animal welfare and the environment. This means we have full traceability, which allows us to guarantee the origin of the wool.More information:

How to maintain your merino wool liner gloves

We recommend that you machine wash your Merino wool liner gloves at 30°C on a normal cycle, preferably with liquid detergent.Dry them on a flat surface, away from moisture and all sources of heat. This could damage the fibre and make them lose their shape. Never put them in the tumble dryer. For more information:
