Our engineers designed these kids’ winter trousers for regular hiking in snow and windy weather conditions.
We have incorporated a wadding lining and very soft and warm fleece into these trousers. The synthetic fibres of the fleece are as effective as wool (warmth, thermal insulation) while being more lightweight. It is soft, comfortable, dries quickly and lets the skin breathe. The fleece material traps air in the volume created by its texture in order to keep the body warm with its naturally-insulating properties.
We carry out a comparative study in a thermal laboratory in walking conditions in light winds (5 km/h). The comfort temperature is the calculated air temperature where 70% of users have a "slightly warm" thermal sensation. For these trousers, it is -3°C. However every individual feels the cold differently.
These trousers already have wadding and fleece lining. You therefore don't need to add tights, which could make your child sweat and which will then make them cold.
We have integrated gaiters at the cuffs of the legs to prevent any snow getting in. In addition, by positioning the elastic at the bottom of the gaiters around your child's shoe or boot, the trousers will not ride up.
Your trousers are designed with a waterproof outer component that keeps out water and wind (before washing: 5,000 mm H²O (Schmerbers) for the main component. To keep you warm in winter you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet).
The waterproofing of a fabric is measured in Schmerbers or H²O mm (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric. This jacket has a waterproof component (JIS 1092 standard) resistant to 5,000 mm H²O (Schmerbers) before washing.
For the comfort of your little ones and your peace of mind, the seams of these trousers are waterproof. They are totally waterproof. We validated the waterproofing with a shower test specially designed to replicate the conditions of a two-hour shower. The seams of a garment are watertight thanks to waterproof and heat-sealed strips. These are placed behind the seams to make the garment waterproof by stopping water from getting inside by capillary action.
In winter, it is important to be protected from both moisture (snow, rain) and wind, because the latter can significantly cool the body, regardless of whether you are physically active or standing still. Thanks to their waterproof coating, these trousers have the technical characteristics to be certified windproof.
Thanks to these reinforced fabric inserts on the knees and seat of these trousers, children can go and explore the world freely. We conduct abrasion and friction resistance tests on the various components to ensure their effectiveness. The abrasion resistance of a fabric is measured by a test called the Martindale test. This machine rubs a sample of the fabric on a reference surface with a weight at the end.
To be properly dressed in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend using the 3-layer principle: layer 1: The high-tech base layer transfers moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry. layer 2: Fleece provides warmth and wicks away moisture. layer 3: The jacket protects you from the outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind. The whole outfit must be breathable in order to eliminate moisture.
To regenerate the water-repellent properties of the fabric and optimise the performance of your garment throughout its lifetime, use a waterproofing spray or liquid at each machine wash.
These warm trousers will meet all the challenges your child throws at them, such as knees in the snow, falling on their bum... thanks to their anti-abrasion inserts and fleece inner.

Our engineers designed these kids’ winter trousers for regular hiking in snow and windy weather conditions.
