perfect backpack

Went to Thailand in november and thought to buy a backpack since we had to travel all over the country because I thought it would be more practical...and it was!!! Very comfortable, spacious and with a very usefull zip that allows you to use the backpack as a luggage. brilliant.

Value for money.

Using since Jan 2016, 8 high altitude treks, approx 80 days, 600 kms, rough terrains, in heavy rain and snow. Pros: 1. Zip quality: 5/5. Most important. 2. Capacity: 5/5. Enough for 10 days of high altitude trekking. 3. Material: 5/5. 4. Stitching: 5/5. No gaps or holes even after 2 years of treks, trains, baggage handlers. 5. Inner side: 5/5. In good condition. 6. Size: rather large. You must check based on your own requirements and height. Improvements required: 1. Snow and water proofing. 3/5. 2. Separators, internal pockets and zipped pouches. 2/5. 3. Cushioning: 3/5. Major improvements required. 4. Air flow enabler & sweat prevention: 1/5. Major improvements required.

Big & Good Backpack

Was going for 2+ week hike & decided for this 90L instead of 70L, but note that it's really big. For most part I didn't use side pockets and wasn't using all 90L and the straps were pulled to make it smaller. Liked the build quality & the front handle for lifting is very useful. 10 year warranty seems like a sales pitch as it doesn't cover routine wear & tear and warrants only against manufacturing defects and so won't be of any use after some time. But don't feel it will be required due to good build quality. 2 metal bars allow it to stand upright even when not filled completely. Recommended product.

Not 100% satisfied.

Only drawback I found was that the bag'S main compartment cannot be locked.

Composition

Main fabric

  • 100% Polyester

Lining

  • 100% Polyester

How to fill your bag for optimal comfort?

Put your bedding at the bottom. Near your back, place heavy equipment (tent, stove, food). Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet can be placed under the flap; the tent under the bag if there’s no space inside. Keep a waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. In the pockets, place small items for the day (sunscreen, map, glasses...). The water bag should be placed in the compartment that is usually placed the length of the back.

How to adjust the back height of your bag?

Set the adjustment to the height you think is appropriate then adjust the bag (see "How to adjust your bag").With the belt on the pelvis, put the straps around the front part of your shoulders and the load adjuster straps (sometimes also height-adjustable) at an angle of around 45° (they should never be horizontal or vertical). If when trying on, the back seems too short or too long, readjust it and try it on again until you're satisfied.

How to adjust your backpack?

First, loosen all the straps (shoulder straps, belt, load adjuster straps).Put on the bag. For rucksacks with a capacity of 50 L or more, place the hip belt correctly (it should sit over the pelvis) and tighten it.For smaller rucksacks, the hip belt should be placed around the waist.Tighten the shoulder straps. Finally, adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.

Environmental measurements

Decathlon has decided to inform you of the environmental impact of its trekking rucksacks over their entire lifespan. This work follows an experiment that began in July 2011 with the French Ministry of Ecology. Scores ranging from A to E were awarded based on comparisons between Quechua's rucksacks only. Details on this project and the calculation methods used are available at http://www.oxylane.com/20/demarche-environnementale

How is rucksack volume measured?

The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty the balls into a graduated container, which gives us the equivalent volume in litres, with a tolerance of a few %.The empty weight shown is that of our reference sample. There may be slight variations.

10-year warranty

The warranty covers the defects of the rucksack, excluding those resulting from normal wear and improper use. This special 10-year warranty will only be granted upon presentation of the receipt and the product. If the product is covered by warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged, free of charge. This sales warranty does not affect the statutory rights applicable in your country/State.
