Not great but not bad for the price

I bought these on 9th January 20121 and by July they were burst. I was doing roughly 30 to 60 miles a month so quite heavy usage. They are still wearable but no longer waterproof and to be honest not sure how much longer they will stay together. The toecap is peeling away, the material has separated from the sole along the edge of the boot and the sole is starting to peel away from the boot too. Cheap yes, comfy yes but was hoping to get at least a year out of them. Maybe not suitable for someone who walks a lot

Good boots for the price

Good boots for the price. A couple of people have even complimented my son on them.

Not waterproof for sure

I bought those shoes about a year ago, only to wear them when taking my dog to the dog park close to where I live. Even when it hasn't rained but the grass and soil are wet, I return home with my feet wet. What's worse, the sole in one of the shoes has come off. Needless to say that in order to put them back on, I have to dry them every time, unless I have to wait 3-4 for them to dry by themselves. Moreover, because of that, their smell isn't the best. Apart from the wet conditions, those shoes are comfortable. But if you're looking for a waterproof shoe, just go for something else.

Great value walking shoe

Bought these for walking in lockdown and used them loads. So impressed I bought a 2nd pair in different colour. Wide enough for my feet and really comfy. They're waterproof to a point but my feet got really wet during a really heavy downpour. That is likely to be from rain getting in at the top as much as through the materials. They're not goretex and are priced accordingly. My only gripe is the sole has sideways running grips, when I walk on a side camber in mud, they just slide left or right and give very little grip. Bit on flat or forward and back terrain They're fine. In the dry They're great. I love them.

Not waterproof

These boots are just water resistant - any length of time in rain will result in wet feet

great item for the money

great boots only really use for walking the dog but never had wet feet whilst i have been wearing them very comfy and light weight

VERY COMFORTABLE - around the house + walking

Do you suffer from pain when walking, feet, legs, back etc? Choose these shoes and here's why.... (1) Light - They are light so reduced weight on your limbs / body. (2) Wide toe box (front part of the shoe), toes are not cramped. This allows your to spread you toes naturally, spread the load and dive off the big toe when walking enable you to fire all your leg and foot muscles correctly / the way you're supposed to! (3) Comfortable - shoes offer good comfort and support, as well as padding for your feet. Good grip and secure foot placement. (4) Strong soles - when you pick the shoe up you cannot easily twist it. This helps with an support for any gait issues you may have developed which cause you pain when walking. (5) Near zero drop.... (What?)... The shoe has a thick sole but is nearly flat, this means you have less issues with your back and knees etc because you're in a more natural position when walking, with your feet flat rather than in a tilted position. Tip - I don't lace all the way up missing the top loop to enable air and additional freedom of movement, used around the house and a second pair for garden and walking. Important to test you shoes every quarter to ensure they are doing their job and offering good comfort and support. If in doubt, replace... much cheaper than a a new pair of feet!. Your welcome!

Grippy soles on natural footpaths

The sole’s design is the result of long research carried out in our labs. It is composed of a specific rubber formula which optimises grip and traction. Since not all needs are the same, we are always looking for the best solution to develop on loose, country trails such as unpaved forest paths.

Designed for use on country trails

Our walking shoes are designed for use on off-road trails. Indeed, we choose the components of the sole and upper of our boots and test them to ensure that they are ideally suited to walking on loose trails (e.g. unpaved forest paths) or rocky trails (e.g. rocky coastal paths). Road use (tarmac) may lead to premature wear on your boots and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain walking.

Laboratory tested

Laboratory tests were also conducted to test the following elements: tearing eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of outsole and upper components, accelerated ageing. These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking shoes.

To reduce our environmental impact

For these shoes we have selected environmentally-friendly components for the outer sole. The latter is made from 30% recycled rubber.

How to choose the size of my walking boots?

Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check two comfort points:- the heel seating- the front of the foot on a downward slopeAvoid any pressure points when fitting. Feel free to walk around the store. Gradually start using you shoes during your first few hiking trips to break them in.

The shoe/sock combination plays an important role

There are numerous causes of blisters when hiking: rubbing, a crease in the sock, moisture, a boot size that is too small or too big, etc. It is therefore important to choose the right size and to have socks made of the right material for your walking boots.

How to choose the size of my walking socks?

You need to choose the correct sock size for your feet to avoid any extra folds forming on the sock: these folds may form because the sock is too big and therefore there is too much material around your foot, or because the sock so small and is pulled towards the inside of your foot.

How to choose the fabric of my walking socks

You need to manage moisture as best you can when walking: you will sweat, it is often inevitable. If your shoe is breathable, it will wick away moisture from your perspiration. It is therefore necessary to choose a light and breathable sock as well. If your boots are relatively waterproof, you will not make the same choice to protect you from the moisture of the rain: you should prefer socks that will absorb your perspiration and then wick it away from your foot.

Which pair of socks should you wear with the nh150 mid wp shoe?

Although the waterproof membrane of these shoes is breathable, they do not eliminate the moisture of your perspiration as effectively as a ventilated shoe. You should opt for the NH100 high socks: they contain moisture-absorbing cotton and have a reverse terry-knit construction under the sock that wicks moisture away from your foot. They are high enough to protect your ankle from the shoe. It is an excellent combination to reduce the chance of blisters.

Warranty

Our hiking boots are guaranteed for 2 years. Our commitment? To provide long-lasting products that you can use for all your country walks and strolls. Because the products we love the most are those which have shared great adventures with us and will continue to do so!

Your opinion is important to us!

Thanks to your feedback, we have improved the concept and design of the NH150 Mid WP waterproof shoes. For this new model, we have added an EVA interlayer sole (ethylene vinyl acetate) to improve your comfort when walking by limiting the feel of stones underfoot.

How to maintain the waterproofing of your shoes?

We advise that you use a waterproofing spray product on your shoes several times per year, to restore their water-repellent property and to prevent staining.
