Good little Scooter

Bought for my daughter, who really likes it. It’s well made and sturdy, and the front suspension makes it a comfy ride. The hand brake is ok but not great and due to the various folding elements there’s a little of vibration when riding, but apart from that it’s spot on.

Poor handlebar brake

Great little scooter, folds up easily, and has a stand too...the only trouble is, the wheel brake works fine, but ever since my daughter has had it, the handle bar brake has not worked. We have to wait until the lockdown is over before we can return it. Soooo disappointing as she had it for Christmas and is desperate to go out on it...

I bought this scooter for daughter as a gift. It folds very easily,it heavy and daughter really likes to ride it!

Wrong item delivered

I bought on 20.05.2020 a scooter like this and I received a skateboard value of £19.99. I send a lot of emails and I try to talk with them but unsuccessful.

Hi C,

Sorry for the inconvenience, this is something it shouldn't have happened. I will contact you in private to have a look at this issue.

Good scooter, bad brake design damaging wheels

I am afraid this is going to be a very critical review. Product itself is nicely designed, quite sturdy , easy to use and should last ages . If not for the brake I would probably give it 4 stars. But after last two weeks I felt I should share the experience with you. I got two scooters from them. After two months use (my 10 year daughter got it for Christmas) she pointed out that the ride is not comfortable anymore. At the beginnning I thought there must be something wrong with bearings as you could hear and feel quite pronounced thudding sounds when riding the scooter (I was not, she was using it over 2 months to ride to school and back). After booking a visit to Decathlon store (I thought something technically is wrong with the scooter I got) the scooter was looked at by a professional and a diagnosis was given. As it turns out poor ride and thudding sound comes from a worn wheel. Now, when I say worn wheel its a case of uneven worn so that the wheel is flat mot round which causes the back (wheel with no suspension ) to hit ground and cause an unpleasant feeling. I was stumped to be told this. First, my 10 year old daughter is of a slim build (with weight nowhere near maximum weight recommended for this model). Nor she is a crazy rider to abuse brakes to the effect of a rear (broken) wheel to got work SO QUICKLY and SO BADLY. So here we come to the conclusion. After I examined as to how the brake works in this scooter (as I imagine in many other Oxelo) scooters is that when you brake it leads to locking the braked wheel. Locked wheel causes the rubber outside of the wheel to be grated in one spot which happens to have contact with pavement/tarmac/surface you are riding. This design combined with use of a rubber which is way too soft leads to premature damage of the outer even before the wheel is fully worn (which I would expect to take months and months if not years with a product like this). I could say a word or two about Customer Services from Decathlon but this probably deserves another review some other place. I am only going to say they were trying to steer my thinking that my scooter was used in harsh conditions and with excessing heavy braking and to prove their point they showed me a scooter that supposedly has been used in their store for display purposes and had not show such wear in its wheels. I naturally took their stance with a pinch of salt as the floor in their store was a plain tiling not tarmac nor concrete (rough) surfaces you find along pedestrian walkways. The end of a stoy is that I laughed and walked away with nothing. The product is not fit for return (did you know their 365 days RETURNS apply to unused products only?) nor can be replaced as the wheel damage is accordingto them caused by use by customer. My advice is: be careful when you buy from Decathlon, they will come up with all sort of excuses in cases like mine. Also when you buy their scooters get ready a spare wheel as in no time you are going to need one.

Hi Krystian,

Thank you for taking the time to review this product. I sent this feedback to the brand and they have determined the assessment by the store team is right this time. Unfortunately this issue isn't covered by the warranty. If you need further assistance let us know.

My daughter effortless adjusted to riding this scooter although she is only 8 years old. She is getting use the utilising the breaks. She loves her new scooter and can’t wait for sunnier days to rid in the park.
