Product Reviews

good
I’ll recommend definitely if someone suffering from frequent punctures it’s really a durable product
I bought this tyre at my local store as they didn't have any of the BTWIN TRIBAN PROTECT ROAD BIKE TYRE 700X28 in stock. First it was incredibly hard to install, I nearly broke my tyre levers trying to fit it, and secondly it provided a very hard and uncomfortable ride. somehow it seemed much narrower than 28mm, also the walls of the tyre are quite soft so the ride is kind of hard but wobbly at the same time. once the Btwin tyre was available in store two weeks later I replaced it (with incredible difficulty) and throwed it away, a complete waste of money, This tyre is by far the worst I have ever tried and I've been cycling for over 10 years.
Good
Have used these tyres for ages, noticed they were back in stock so decided to buy and have them just in case I needed a new tire
I ordered these, but unfortunately made an error when giving delivery details. It seems that the warehouse computer systems were sophisticated enough to pick up the error, and they held the package back. My re-order was delivered promptly, and the money on the unsent order was refunded immediately. First class service. I have not used the goods yet but as they are branded products have no reason to believe that they will not be good.
I purchased one of these tyres two years ago to replace the back tyre on my touring bike. I covered 3700 miles in that tyre which I thought was very good for an inexpensive tyre so I have recently purchased the same again.
Brilliant staff and service but i would suggest making sure having the items there when it says instock on your website to find out they are not and i have to make another journey next week when they delivery arrive
A good budget commuter tyre to tackle all weathers and surfaces. The grip is excellent which gives you that added protection. And punctures are pretty much non existent.... The only downside is the rolling resistance is awful and so you have to work alittle harder.
I've fitted these to my Triban 3 which is specced with a max tyre size of 25mm. There is still ample clearance around the tyre and I would say the overall profile is comparable to the 25mm Gatorskin I replaced. Slightly disappointed as I was hoping to gain a bit more comfort for winter using these - I may now try a 28mm Conti or Michelin to see if they fit. You need good technique to fit them - start oppposite the valve hole and work slowly, as you approach the valve compress the tyre opposite the valve using your legs and at the 3 o'clock/9 o'clock position with your forearms. By no means a tough job but they're not the easiest to go on first time. Can't comment yet on puncture protection or how they roll but they are pretty heavy. Flexible sidewalls mean you'll need to run these at high pressure to get the best puncture protection.
It is fair to say that tyre width does vary a bit between brands and in most cases the depth can differ too. The rim width (15mm or 17mm)will also alter the perceived width.
Saying that, the Vittoria tyres do tend to come up on the narrow side of the scale whereas the opposite could be said of Schwalbe. On the plus side is that this particular tyre has quite a low TPI and a deep tread pattern making it very durable. Dropping the PSI a little may be one way to increase comfort as wider tyres require less pressure without sacrificing rolling resistance. This great film by GCN covers the topic well well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sDX54zNmxY

Replaced my Gatorskins which slippy & far from puncture proof in winter. Also better than 4Seasons (rubber so soft you could pick it out with finger nails) and Schwalbe Marathon Plus (v hard ride). These Randonneurs are comfortable, great value, grip & roll well, & are serously puncture proof. Hard to put on but you’ll probably only need to do it once. Strong sidewalls; 70 psi is plenty. Examine carefully before buying; one of pair I bought was distorted but immediately replaced by excellent Decathlon Crawley.
These tyres are made way too small for the 700 wheels, and you need a crowbar to get them on. Just pray you don't puncture when you're using them - you'll be there all day changing the tube. I'll never use these again.

Good Quality affordable
I've been using the Vittoria Randonneur tyre for over 2 years and I've never had any punctures. I now have them on two bikes, my winter and summer bikes. The tyre has a directional arrow indicating, which way to fit them for rotation. The 28mm can be a bit too large for Road bikes with only millimetres of clearance.
I bought the 700*28's for long distance riding. Had them just over a week and done 154 miles with no punctures. Quite impressed with them tbh. They excel on all sorts of trails, paths and roads which usually flat other tyres. I even hit something really hard going through a puddle, my heart sank but the tyre stayed up. For the price you probably can't get a better tyre.
Additional Product informations
How to measure tyre wear
To measure the wear on your road tyres and to know when they need replacing, you need to inspect the tread. Signs of wear include: - tread starting to fray- the appearance of a series of micro cracks- low tread depth- the carcass becomes visible. In all these cases the tyre is worn and needs replacing.
How to remove a tyre
To remove your tyre, deflate the inner tube until no more air comes out.Once deflated, use a tyre lever to remove the tyre from the rim.
How to fit a tyre
To put the tyre back on, place one side of the tyre into the rim. Next, inflate your inner tube to approximately 30% before putting it into the tyre (inflating it beforehand reduces the risk of pinching the inner tube). Then, insert the other side of the tyre into the rim, starting on the side opposite the valve. Before inflating the inner tube all the way, check to make sure it isn't pinched between the tyre and the rim.
How to inflate your tyre correctly
Inflate your tyre carefully. The recommended pressure is indicated on the tyre's sidewall and its product sheet (available online). Before each outing, make sure that your tyres are at the correct pressure for your ride.
Tip from the pros
When inflating your tyre, make sure you inflate it to the suitable pressure for the terrain you will be riding on and, above all, the weather conditions you will be riding in. When riding in rainy weather, lower the tyre pressure to increase the tyre's traction. When riding in dry weather, you can increase the pressure for better performance.
