Sizing comes up small

Having bought and worn decathlon winter cycling tights in a medium, these come up small compared to the sizing guide given. Apart from the sizing issue, they feel well made and the pad is comfortable.

Good for the money

Sizing check

Great quality product, but came up a lot smaller than all my other medium shorts - go for 1 size bigger.

Lasted well.

I’ve had these for 2 years plus now and they’re still in good shape. The padding is a little thin and narrow for rides over 2 hours but it has made a good spare pair and turbo set of shorts. Great for the money.

Very poor design

Anyone looking for a half decent set of cycling shorts should avoid these. The lack of any rubber grips on either the legs or waist lead to lots of creepage and movement. The padding ... stick part of a exercise mat down your shorts and it will give you the same idea of the padding in them and whichever designer thought it was a good idea to have a horizontal seam halfway down your butt has obviously never worn these shorts for any length of time on a bike. Save your money and buy a more expensive pair.

Cycling shorts

Great fit and very comfortable on my usual 30-mile daily commute route.

Value for money shorts

I’m a supporter of Decathlon and their products. Great fit, comfortable, easy to wash and great value.

Materials seem fine. Sizing a joke.

Material and construction seem reasonable and ok for the price point. The pad feels basic but again, seems fine for the affordability. Sizing is a joke. I'm 5'11 and 70kg with a 31" waist. I wear small in most clothing, but often medium for cycling gear, so went for a medium based on size guide hip measurements. Took a lot of persuasion to get them on and, once on (sort of), they were cutting off circulation to my legs.

Wrong item (and extremely uncomfortable)

I have ordered these cycling shorts (I already had another pair and wanted a second one) but I have received a very uncomfortable cheap pair instead. The appearance was very similar (all black etc.) so i didn't realise it until wearing them (and after cutting the label). The pair I've received is awful to say the best, doesn't stretch, and a size M is not big enough for me (I normally wear a size S on all clothes...) This was part of a broader order where another item didn't correspond to what i had ordered, and this is frankly unacceptable for a big company like Decathlon. I'm expecting a refund or the product to be exchanged for free. I must say this time I'm overall very very disappointed, also considering that on top of this Decathlon makes you pay delivery costs even if items are collected in store.

Bt win bibless rc100 cycling shorts

Nice fit, good pad. Use these on 20 mile summer and autumn rides. Very comfortable. Love the reflective details. Good value shorts.

Decent for a max couple hours to maybe 3 hour ride

First time using padded shorts I purchased the most budget £10 in house brand from Halfords and after 2 weeks riding weekly - 100-150 miles I got sores - expected at the price point I paid can only blame myself really. However these shorts are of a much higher quality. Only large and above available in branch at the time (Wandsworth) and the difference in quality is astounding. Better quality padding and the overall material feels much better quality. The more i ride I will definitely have to invest in Bib shorts within time. Would recommend to beginners they should be comfortable enough, but as other have said make sure you purchase the size up from your usual size. Good bargain

I expected better

The sizing comes up very small. I normaly buy size small, these were like a child size. Returned for a medium which is still on the small side. The padding also seems too large for the shorts and felt very awkward when first put on. Was ok for the actual ride though.

Seams tearing after just a few uses

I've used these shorts maybe 4 times? The seams have started to tear/split. Pretty annoying! Wouldn't buy again.

Product tests

Our team of product designers based at the B'Twin Village in Lille is continuously working to make cycling more comfortable for our users. Our obsession is to create products that meet the specific cycling needs of our users so as to eliminate things that get in the way of their rides. We then test our products in the field, as we are convinced that only by subjecting them to real world conditions, like the ones you experience on your bike, can we continuously improve our products.

A rating to compare products' environmental impact

A product's environmental impact is calculated for its entire life cycle using various indicators. An overall rating (ABCDE) is given, allowing you to easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing similar products to each other (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks etc.).Decathlon openly displays the environmental ratings of its products. To find out more: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
