When its right, its great. I am a complete novice owner though and know nothing about bike maintenance. I bought it on 16th December and have ridden it extensively since, then had handlebar issues so took it back to a store in lockdown where bike technician (and all staff) were fantastically helpful. Now have one screechy front brake and a squeaking front wheel which has developed since I last took the front wheel off. There is a very small spring in the front wheel pin which is very easily lost, so beware. Rather wished I'd paid another £80 for the next model up. BUT, as I said at the beginning, when its well, it's fantastic.
Pedal broke off after a week of use

Purchased this bike with a few extra accessories to make it suitable for commuting + grocery shopping + short distance leisure riding: mudguards, pannier rack, 20L panniers, chain lock, stand, better lights, frame mounted hand punp, under-seat toolkit bag. Fully kitted out, this bike has served me perfectly for over two years, and I expect it to last for many more. I've already ridden over 3000 miles so far in 2 years (mostly daily commuting, but a few short leisure rides too). Although I purchased a Small (Decathlon says I could use a Small or a Medium as I'm 165 cm), I do have to lean very slightly. Not enough to cause me problems (although I would have preferred to be perfectly upright). The tyres are good - never had a flat even though I've been lazy and not always run them optimally inflated. The front sprocket has warped, but still not had the chain skip on lowest or highest gears. First set of front brake pads wore out in barely a month as they had been badly installed in the shop. I installed the next set myself and they've lasted two years. The chain lasted about 2000 miles before it had to be replaced. Decathlon's mudguard set is a little short on the rear for this size, so you get splashed a bit on wet roads.The brakes are not as good as they could be, but do the job. The single derailleur gives great range, and never skips, although the indexing tends to slip after a few months. Everything runs very smoothly, with minimal maintenance. At this price, this bike is the best value for money and has definitely proved itself. Competing bikes in the same price range (usually a little more expensive) owned by my friends have not been able to match this bike for features, quality, or longevity. Minor complaints aside, this is still a great budget/starter bike from Decathlon!
Love love love this bike. Have had it a month now and it’s really helped me with my training. Was really sceptical at first but now I feel comfortable worth it.
I'm male, both overweight and short and haven't ridden a bike since 1997 , so I decided with lockdown to get a cheap bike to get fit - this was it. At 5'6 (165cm) I am at the top end of the Short frame and bottom end of Medium. I opted for the Medium because I didn't want to be cramped, also I want to be able to travel faster (larger wheel base) and keep up with other bikes of this size. In hindsight this may not have been correct decision, however I never got to try the Small (social distancing) so this could have been worse. Unfortunately the Medium, even with lowest seat setting protrudes into one's scrotum (under the jewels so to speak), when you stop and put feet down of which I can place a comfortable 75% of both feet down, or a whole foot if I lean, causing an ache, inside of both thighs. It does to a much lesser extent when I ride. Using Google-Fu I determined that one can angle their bike seat to help alleviate some of this - great! - EXCEPT Decathlon cheaped out and fitted a non angle-able bike seat post. I had to spend another £13 on Amazon to get one that did. Once I did that and angled the seat very slightly down there have been no problems (I'm told that the seat should be perfectly horizontal in YouTube videos, they clearly don't have the physique I do and I would ignore this advice because I value my groin - just make sure you can't slip off). The seat itself is meant to be "Ergonomic", I'd challenge this and say "Aerodynamic", because my derrier hangs over the sides in the air probably a bit more than most (yes I'm within the bike weight limit) so other non fit types may also want to consider a better softer seat, however with the aforementioned angled seat post change this is quite tolerable and does not cause aches. Finally - the reach to the handlebars - I can reach them comfortably, however a totally straight back I have not, which is (again YouTube) bad posture. I'd say I can sit up vertically, but still need to lean slightly to reach (like you may do to reach condiments in the centre of a regular size dinner table, not excessive, but not straight). A Small frame may not have had this issue - for what it's worth I've not had back problems but your mileage may vary. Aside from these issues the bike performs well, tyre grip isn't as good as MTBs I remember, but this is a hybrid and to be expected. The cheap lights bundled with the bike are pretty much a pound shop's finest but at a push will do the job (also my rear light appears to have a blown LED which was DoA - so much for the electrics' QA). I'm generally happy with the purchase, a solid performer for the price. One final thing, the staff seem to want to hand you the bike and get back to shop floor work - make sure they show you how wheel quick release works, specifically opening the brakes calipers, because lumping it in the back of a car with the front wheel on to get it home is a nightmare - I had the fortune of a fellow random cyclist point it out to me.
Bought this bike from a store (not online), thinking it would be ok for leisure rides during lockdown. After 4 weeks the chain ring became warped and threw the chain. I tried in-store to purchase a replacement chain ring, with no luck and also the online store for a spare part. None was listed. Contacted customer services to seek advice to be told they couldn't find any spares for the bike online and to take the bike back to a store for advice. Was surprised to learn that they don't hold spare parts for their own bikes! Have managed to source a replacement chain ring else where and will fit myself. If you are after a cheap bike this maybe for you, but any issues with spares maybe a problem.

Have been using this bike 1 year and 2 months and have had to put back the pedal crank into place twice already.I understand this is a cheap entry level bike but you would think that they would be careful about the stability of the pedal crank which if it falls out of place in the wrong moment can actually lead to an accident. I thought at first that it was an issue in the way the technician had assembled the bike the first time but now I have the same problem despite having taken the bike to the workshop two months ago - this leads me to think that this is a defect in the pedal. Given the above and a few other loose parts that constantly needs to be fixed, I would not recommend buying this bike.
I'm extremely happy with the bike!
I bought the bike because my old one £350 from Cycle Republic) was stolen and I thought I would go cheaper so that it might be too cheap to steal. I only cycle to work (5-6 miles) with it anyway. At first I was happy with it. The rear light broke the first week (not a big deal), I had two punctures within the first month (unfortunate) and now, less than 6 weeks in I've had to change the brake pads. I tried to return the bike a week of two later but was told I couldn't because it wasn't in the same state as when I bought it. The staff in Decathlon said this was all wear and tear. I told head office and they said if the shop staff believe it's wear and tear then they can't do anything. If you're prepared to do the maintenance yourself it might be worth it, otherwise it's cheap materials and no aftercare so you're better off buying a better bike from a better brand. Decathlon is great for anything you won't need to maintain (like running clothes).

It is true that in winter time, non cartridge pads (especially after all of the wet weather we've had) can wear out surprisingly fast.
If you commute in all weathers, it's certainly worth upgrading to cartridge pads which whilst only costing a few pounds more provide more compound options which will last longer. The flip side of a harder pad is the increased wear on your rims, but keeping the pads debris free (grit and dust from the road) will help massively.
Thankfully v-brake pads are extremely easy to replace with one simple tool.
