The cloth is good for protection of lens from scratches hopefully. The closing strap doesn't have a locking mechanism. Ideally there should have been hard case/cover option.

There is no option for hard case. The cloth protector is only choice. The closing strap doesn't have a locking mechanism. Other than that it does something than nothing which is good for protection of the lens from scratches hopefully.
