These were my first venture into clipless pedals. I was a little concerned initially that the left pedal did not spin as freely as the right, kind of a grinding noise. Took them out for a spin and have taken to them really well, I think they suit someone who, like myself, is wanting to transition to clipless, they are not too expensive and work well but I can see me changing up to Shimano in the next 12 months.
These are good value for money and we're bought for a spare commuting bike. They do the job well.
I've had 3 sets of these pedals. In each set the right hand pedal's bearing has failed within 10k miles. They are very difficult overhaul because the end cap is difficult to remove and the bearings are tiny. They work fine with the supplied shoe cleats but seem to be slightly different from shimano spd so don't work very well with original shimano cleats.
First set of SPD pedals I have had they work well and seem to do the job great to be double sided
very Hard. My wife and I would normally wear look cleats for racing bike but we needed to get SPD cleats for a holiday trip... It took many attempts to get them on, they are very hard to cleat on even after adjusting them to the loosest position
I was given these by someone who did not like them. I sprayed oil onto the springs as I do with my Shimano. They work well even if these springs are a little bit stronger. The bearings are extremely smooth. It's like having an extra gear. I don't know why I didn't buy them sooner.
Sadly these clips aren't worth bothering with, I bought them for my hybrid hoping they'd be good for the canal path and roads however they're near impossible to clip into even with the tension off. I also bought a pair of Shimano for another bike and they're awesome in comparison. Real shame! I'll be buying the others for my hybrid too.
Thank you for sharing your review of these pedals with us. I also encountered the same issue as you. I found them to be very stiff but I lubed the springs and with in a few clips they worked as I would have expected and I now use them every day on my commuting bike. I fully appreciate your frustration and they should work smoothly straight out of the box. I will feedback your comments to the product manager in charge of these pedals.

Bought these a couple of weeks ago as they're cheap, and while the left one worked fine, the right one refused to clip in even after I'd released all the tension, via the bolts, using a hex key. I then thought I'd try carefully screwing the bolts back to maximum tension and then back to minimum tension to see if that loosened things up, but all that did was strip the bolt heads as the steel they're made of is too soft to withstand much adjustment, and it seemed to take a lot of force to turn the bolts. So now the right pedal is unusable and, all in all, it wasn't a very happy experience. My advice is to spend a bit more or, if you do get these, don't mess around trying to adjust them. Anyway, bin.
I'm sorry to read that one of the pedals could not be adjusted correctly. Please feel free to return them to us for a refund or an exchange.

The pedals look good and sturdy but after 3 days of use, the pedals started to produce an annoying sound from the rubber part (and the sound is still going after 400km). For the price, you can buy a SHIMANO pair of better quality.
after the first couple of uses the paint started to get scratched off while unclipping and the bearings in them aren't very good quality
Good one for the beginners
Pedals aren't good at all. Paint is coming it doesn't lock properly as well. Screws on it aren't twisting so I am not even able to adjust it's locking
Thank you for writing Vaibhav. Just to update you the color on these pedals are not permanent. scratches may come when there are going to get in contact with a sharp object or when rubbed with another object like a cycling shoe. And for the screw part maybe you can visit your nearest decathlon so that they can help you with the proper adjustment.
Hope this may help you.
I bought this to replace my shimano m520 pedals hopefully they would last as long as those. This could have been on a better price point.
Clip in and out is on par with Shimano. Only issue is pretty heavy.

These pedals have a 9/16" standard thread that is compatible with all adult mountain, hybrid, road and indoor bikes on the market. The 520 clipless mountain bike pedals are compatible with all shoes that can take ROCKRIDER cleats that are SHIMANO SPD compatible. We recommend the ST 100 (ref. 8512376), ST 500 (ref. 8500914), XC 100 (ref. 8512218) or XC 500 mountain bike shoes (ref. 8512245).
To mount the pedals, you'll need a 15 mm spanner or a 6 mm Allen key.Make sure you screw each pedal on the right way: clockwise for the right, and anticlockwise for the left.
The holding and release tension of the SPD cleat can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
When learning to use clipless pedals, make sure you plan ahead each time you want to unclip and put your foot down (at traffic lights, when stopping, or when there's an obstacle in the way).If you aren't yet completely at ease with cleats, you might want to have one side of your pedals as flat pedals (ref. 8405478) to use on the more technical sections of your ride.
