Cutting the stay for the front mudguard
For the Riversides 500, 900 and 920, you'll need to cut the stay attaching the front mudguard at around 24 cm from the axle.The stay for the rear mudguard does not need to be cut.

I bought two sets of these for mine and my wife's Riverside 920 bikes (which we love). I agree with previous reviewers that the instructions are terrible and they are very fiddly as the fittings are not designed to fit the forks on the 920. I eventually decided that the only way to fit them would be such a bodge that I am not going bother and will buy some different ones.
The instructions are very poor. I should have read the reviews before purchase. I find on the website that you need to cut the front stays to 24cm. If this was in the instructions it would have helped and saved time whilst I found this out. Overall the fittings are messy to fit for such a simple purchase. However if you wish also to use panniers then this is the kit you need. Overall they do not fit well. The supplied instructions may as well be in Martian or Klingon. I have wasted too long trying to make them fit to a point which would make them effective. In a nutshell rubbish.
