Architecture, tent poles and tent pegs
Lightweight, shock and frost resistant aluminium pole: 7001 T6 Yunan SD70PF Ø 8.3 mm aluminium.Optimised square tent pegs: “anvil” head, oversized main part, extremely resistant and lightweight (7075 T6 aluminium).Simple Y-shaped dome: the main pole splits into 3 feet giving a semi-freestanding structure. Top pole provides volume and therefore capacity.
Pitching/striking
Separate flysheet and bedroom. Traditional pitching method: bedroom on the ground and clipped to the poles. Cover the whole tent with the flysheet. Adjust the tautness. If needed, the bedroom can be dismantled from inside.Intuitive pitching thanks to colour coding on the pole, bedroom and flysheet. When it rains, to pitch the flysheet first, you will need the compatible groundsheet (ref 8797781).
Waterproofing
Forclaz tents are laboratory-tested: pitched tent, 200 litres/sqm/hour (3 hours, equivalent to a tropical storm). They are also tested in the field by a sample user group.20 denier polyester (PES) flysheet and 40D polyamide (PA) groundsheet have a polyurethane coating (inside) and silicone (exterior).Seams taped with heat-sealed strips.Multi-component bedroom combining breathability, wind protection and prevents condensation
Wind resistance
We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable where we can expose each side of the tent to the wind.To test its wind resistance, the tent must be properly pitched, taut but not stretched, with all the guy ropes in position around the tent. It should remain habitable at wind speeds of 60km/h, measured near ground level. Our tents are certified by the CSTB independent laboratory in Nantes.
Ventilation and condensation prevention
Bedroom with mosquito screen for ventilation and water-repellent fabric to protect from condensation and draughts. There are 2 large top ventilation areas that you can close using a Velcro strip. To reduce condensation inside your tent, it must be properly pitched, with the fabric kept taut without being over-stretched. Two-way zips on the door to keep it open. The use of ventilation and good air circulation limits humidity inside your tent
Seasons
3-season tent: your tent will protect you from the harsh weather conditions you can encounter in the spring, summer or autumn. It will withstand light snowfall but is not designed to withstand heavy loads that would weigh on the structure. In case of snow, remember to shake your tent regularly in order to bring down any snow that has accumulated to avoid putting too much weight on the structure of your tent.
Repairs and after-sales service
As designers, we are concerned about the durability of our products, which is why all our tents are designed to be repairable. You will find spare parts (poles, chamber, etc.) on the shelves or in the workshop of your Decathlon shop, on our website, or contact support. In case of problems, don't hesitate to have your tent checked in your Decathlon shop.Repair kit (ferrule, patch): 20 g
Durability
Your tent is designed for itinerant bivouacking, it is therefore not designed for static use in the sun.We recommend that you avoid leaving it in the sun as the ultra-light fabrics can be sensitive to UV light, that damages them.

Product Reviews
2 nights in the Dales. One very wet. Great tent, well made , no water in, no condensation. Love the extension of ground sheet for rucksack (which won't fit in the tent of course) . Pegs are light and look nice but design is useless, use them to support plants at home and get some alu proper ones. Light and packs up into compression bag easily-none of that never can get it back in the bag nonsense . The colour coded design for ease of fitting the poles and attachments is good. Can sit up in it, great ! Didn't use the extra guys but there if needed. all in all well thought out , good value and up to the job of hike-tent.
Having looked at several options for a tent suitable for bikepacking I took a punt on the MT900. Price, features and reviews where all factors..its difficult to gauge via photographs so I checked stock and visited the nearest store..the tent is pretty light 1.3kg and packs up small, fitting under the top tube with a couple of restrap fast straps. It's been used in anger on a 3 day trip to I.O.M with one might of torrential rain and a force 7 gale which didn't phase it at all..A slight niggle is inner pitch first and until you get the knack of the outer it was at first a bit fiddly. I'm 6ft and sitting up is no problem.
I have bought this tent last summer for bike packing. I have now used it twice and both times the tent was wonderful. Light, easy to travel with. The design is wonderful, very easy to assemble. Packs away well too. I’m 155cm, so the tent feels roomy, leaves enough space for my bags and staff as well. Very pleased that I have decided to buy this tent! I will happily take it on my next adventures.
