Straight forward replacement for similar tyre that I’d had on my bike for approximately 3-4 years
I bought this tyre as a replacement for the original that came with my Triban bicycle, after trying the VITTORIA RANDONNEUR ROAD BIKE TYRE 700X28 first as they didn't have this one on my local store. The Vittoria one provided an uncomfortable ride it seemed narrower than 28mm and it was incredible hard to take on and off, this one on the contrary is a joy and the ride is very comfortable. comparing those two tyres is like having two pairs of trainers, one are too tight and uncomfortable and the other ones are a joy to wear. the only downside is that they are hard to come by and usually out of stock in most stores, but I bought two (one to fit and one as a spare) when they are available at my local store. To me this tyre is by far the best one in the market and at a great price too, I can't fault it.
These tyres came fitted to my Triban RC520, they are ok in the dry but shocking in the wet. After 100's of km on them they are still barely showing any wear and I've yet to have a puncture despite riding dirty winter roads so that's a definite plus, however the grip is non existent on wet roads. They'll be great as a summer touring/training tyre but I'll be swapping for winter!
Great shop, very good quality service and product's Highley recommended. Keep up the good work. Excellent.
These tyres came fitted to my triban rc500 and I have been very impressed with their performance, especially considering their £12 price tag. I have covered approximately 1500km on them so far and theyre not showing too much wear. They perform excellently on tarmac but have also handled gravel remarkably well, although they are sometimes a bit skiddy in the wet. Value: 5/5 Grip: Dry 5/5, Wet 3.5/5 Speed: 4.5/5 Longevity: 4.5/5 Installation: 4/5 (can be tricky fitting to tubeless ready rims)
A decent tyre which will hopefully last a few thousand kms
Its cheap, but after 3 months and approx 550km of use in the city it teared on the side.
I purchased an RC520 last Aug that came with these tires. After about 300km over a month, the rear tire failed because the bead de-laminated from the tire. The Decathlon staff replaced it no charge, but due to the overall component shortage of 2020 I received a tire from one of their showroom bikes. I had happy, impressed the went the extra mile. A week ago I started to get my bike tuned up for the season, and noticed that both tires are starting to crack along the side walls, and the rear tire in particular is starting to crack (de-laminate) between the tire sidewalls and the tread. Not good. That type of failure could certainly lead to a disastrous accident. Overall, I'm impressed with the bike, the staff, the product offering, but I'm starting to think the pricing might just be too good to be true. I will be replacing these tires with another brand, for both weight and durability.
Good quality tyre. Only con is that it is slightly slippery when raining.
A bit hard to install.. But look and feels solid
Hi Shazuly,
Thank you for your review on our 700C STIFF BEAD ROAD TYRE TRIBAN PROTECT 700 X 28.
I'm glad to hear that you like our product. Here are a few tips when installing 700C STIFF BEAD ROAD TYRE TRIBAN PROTECT 700 X 28 the next time.
To put the tyre back on, place one side of the tyre into the rim. Next, inflate your inner tube to approximately 30% before putting it into the tyre (inflating it beforehand reduces the risk of pinching the inner tube).
Then, insert the other side of the tyre into the rim, starting on the side opposite the valve.
Before inflating the inner tube all the way, check to make sure it isn't pinched between the tyre and the rim. I hope it helps on your next installation. =)
Hope to hear from you again!
Sports on safely!

Swapped to this through midlife of my 700x25 tyres. Ride is definitely more comfortable and responsive now. Grip is good on dry and wet road surface. I do ride with a 10psi drop on the rear wheels.
Thank you for your review for the Stiff Bead Road Tyre!
I'm happy to hear that this tyre works best for you! This tyre has excellent protection provided by a high-density nylon mesh ply under the thread. The stiff steal bead is enforced to offer more durability especially when you cycle through long hours regularly. At just $18.00, this is definitely a 'steal' considering the amount of nice features it has to offer!
Stay safe, fit and healthy!

How to measure tyre wear
To measure the wear on your road tyres and to know when they need replacing, you need to inspect the tread. Signs of wear include: - tread starting to fray- the appearance of a series of micro cracks- low tread depth- the carcass becomes visible. In all these cases the tyre is worn and needs replacing.
How to remove a tyre
To remove your tyre, deflate the inner tube until no more air comes out.Once deflated, use a tyre lever to remove the tyre from the rim.
How to fit a tyre
To put the tyre back on, place one side of the tyre into the rim. Next, inflate your inner tube to approximately 30% before putting it into the tyre (inflating it beforehand reduces the risk of pinching the inner tube). Then, insert the other side of the tyre into the rim, starting on the side opposite the valve. Before inflating the inner tube all the way, check to make sure it isn't pinched between the tyre and the rim.
How to inflate your tyre correctly
Inflate your tyre carefully. The recommended pressure is indicated on the tyre's sidewall and its product sheet (available online). Before each outing, make sure that your tyres are at the correct pressure for your ride.
Tip from the pros
When inflating your tyre, make sure you inflate it to the suitable pressure for the terrain you will be riding on and, above all, the weather conditions you will be riding in.When riding in rainy weather, lower the tyre pressure to increase the tyre's traction. On the other hand, when riding in dry weather, you can increase the pressure for better performance.
