Replaced my standard smoothish road tyre with this one, and what a reduction in noise! I was expecting a small improvement, given the road tyre was pretty smooth to start with, but I am astonished at how much quieter this turbo specific one is. Very pleased indeed, as I don't now need to be so conscious of disturbing the neighbours. Many reviews complain about the difficulty in fitting the tyre. I didn't have any problems, although this tyre feels far more floppy than when initially trying to get it onto the rim. Talcum powder, or the equivalent, always helps if you're struggling with poor quality tyre levers. Excellent value tyre, and comes folded.
This tyre is inexpensive compared with other trainer tyres, but has failed with blistering after just a few hundred km on the trainer. I see from other reviews that this is a common problem. I'll be returning it for a refund when next I swing by a store.
Turbo tyres are difficult to source at the moment so I was delighted to find these in stock and available to deliver online. I have only been using a trainer for a month and it degraded my normal road tyre very quickly and was extremely noisy. I cannot quite believe how much quieter and smoother the proper trainer tyre is (family also delighted at less noise!). I had no issues getting it on the rim, I didn't even need to use levers - it went on by hand (but I admit the rims on my training bike are quite 'small'). Really glad I bought it, time will tell if it lasts.
I have had 3 punctures in 1 week with this tyre. No idea why. This is the first time using a trainer tyre this has happened
Free fitting too so don’t need to hurt my little pinkies getting it on : )
The lip of the sidewall is so thick on this tyre - it is very, very, very hard to mount. I have put thousands of tyres on biks and this is the single most difficult I have ever dealt with - it's cheap but a for the amount of inner tubes you lose trying to get it on it's a false economy.
Does the job. Is quieter and creates no tyre burn. Just about fits a cyclocross rim. Much better priced than elsewhere.
I bought two of these to avoid running gravel tyres on rollers. Getting them on the wheels was a bit of a thumb-torture exercise (I could have followed advice and warmed them up on a radiator first, but I'm too stubborn for that). They look a bit narrow for my 20mm wide rims, but since I don't have to worry about cornering with these tyres, it's just fine. Pumped them up to 6.5 bar and had a go on the rollers. I can now train in the living room without disturbing anyone, it's so silent. The squeaking of the rollers' bearings is louder than the tyres. I'm happy.
Makes a great difference to the noise level, and wearing well
Easy to install, noise down to zero on your trainer.
Some people say to use an old road tyre for your indoor trainer, well I've tried that and it wasn't very good. The tyres get very warm so a regular tyre will slip and shed. Proper indoor trainer tyres do neither. This one from Decathlon is good value, easy to fit, doesn't squeak and is in fact so quiet that I can hear my drive train, which is also super quiet. According to Zwift its now done just under 900km, though I suppose 24 hours use or actual distance of 600km might be better measures. Defo buy again.
Ordered via app got it after 2 weeks, received in good condition. Installation was pretty easy using tyre levers also reduces noise level on the trainer
The tyre is good for the home trainer, using it for last 2 months without an issue. Just two points to remember - Firstly remember to get an inner tube if you have a different road tyre, the same tube may not work. Secondly, it becomes slightly black at the edge that touches the trainer roller.
Nice hardy tyre for the Home Trainer. Bit challenging to mount yourself. But using the 3 yellow levers bought from Decathlon I could do it myself without any untoward events. While doing do not be in a hurry and do the work step by step patiently. Be careful about handling the inner tube. Overall wonderful experience.
I have used so many tyres. But this one is most hard to install. My two tubes damaged during installation. I advise to use hair dryer blower to soften the tyre.
