Product Reviews
Bought this for use on my Wahoo smart trainer as it was cheap and cheerful, and the performance is faultless.
My Shimano 105 11 speed cassette had become worn and I was suffering from chain slip. The current price of a direct replacement was £50 and as this was for my cyclocross/gravel bike I was not super concerned about weight. The Decathlon alternative was just £25 so I thought I would give it a try. The weight penalty is about 1g per £ saved. As another reviewer suggested I swapped the lock-ring with the one from my original 105 cassette and this did save a few grams. Shifting performance is spot on..after a few tweaks everything indexes just as before. Although the large and small gears are the same, the other ratios are a little different but are perhaps better for my purposes. I felt I needed to use a bit more care when fitting the smallest cog as it was not such a positive fit as the Shimano and had to try a couple of times to get it properly aligned. So this leaves two questions: 1) Can you live with a 25g weight increase? and 2) Will it wear quicker than the Shimano version? Only time will tell with the later but I feel for me it is worth giving it a go.
A lot cheaper than I would normally pay. Looks good on the bike but still to try it out
