Capacity
The bag has a 60 L volume with an extra 10 L extension. The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method. we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container in order to determine the equivalent volume in litres, with a margin of error of just a few %.

Air design
As with the MT900 UL line, the MT500 AIR range has a ventilated back structure with mesh fabric (net fabric) that helps the back to breathe and dries quickly. Rigidity is guaranteed by a reinforced frame. The back is adjustable with a release strap that’s easy and quick to use.
Materials
Polyamide main fabric 210D RS (Ripstop = increased resistance to tears), reinforced bag base (420Dx330D RS)
Recommended carry weight
According to the project for which this backpack was designed, we recommend you don’t load it above 15 kg. Then you can benefit from all its features. Moreover, it’s not recommended to carry a load greater than 20-25% of your own weight and put too much pressure on your back.
How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Store your clothing around it. A groundsheet or tent can be placed under the flap or under the bag if there isn't room inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder can be placed in the compartment provided down the back.
How to use the multi-use straps?
The new range of MT500 AIR and MT900 UL bags has two straps with open aluminium buckles (on the lower part of the bag). These straps let you hook on a tent or mattress under the bag or on the barrel. If not in use, these straps can be stored (by pushing them inside) in the hidden pocket intended for this or detached and used elsewhere with the lark's head knot buckle.

Product Reviews
I bought mine about four months ago. I live on the southern end of Phuket Island but am getting ready for a season of backpacking in the US where I am from. I go out every morning at 6am for an 8 km loop along the bay before it gets too hot. I carry 35lbs and it typically takes me around 80, plus or minus, minutes. For the first week I was figuring out how to comfortably adjust the suspension to my torso and how all the strappage worked. I was also integrating a hands free umbrella system to hide from the Sun. I should also mention that pack will fit a Bear Vault with 10 days of food for one. Bear Vaults are required in many national parks in N. America and keep the rodents at bay as well. At first the suspension squeaked. A lot. I have run into this before with other packs, new and old. I just got out a candle and everywhere I thought that two surfaces might be rubbing/squeaking I rubbed candle wax. I also sprayed some Armour All. Problem solved. Quiet as a mouse. Carries very well and is easily adjusted on the fly to give relief to various parts of this old body. As to being waterproof: if you rely upon any pack to keep your critical items dry, your sleeping and warm gear, you are going to be disappointed and maybe in trouble. I use light weight dry bags for kayaking to put my sleeping gear/warm clothes in before they go in the pack. Lots of options to keep ready gear at hand. I have been backpacking since 1967 and I like this as well as any pack I've ever used.
Good enough for me. It's well built.
More room. More comfort.
