What is the r-value?
The R-Value is a measure of the thermal insulation. It measures the ability of a mattress to retain or prevent heat from escaping from a warm body (human body) to a cold floor. The higher the R-Value, the better the insulation of the mattress. Please note that the R-Values can be added; this means that you can use two mattresses and add their R-Values.All our mattresses are tested to standard ASTM F3340-18.
What r-value for what use?
R-value from 0 to 1.9: Hot season (summer) onlyR-value from 2 to 3: 2 or 3-season (spring-summer-autumn)R-value from 3 to 4: 4-seasonR-value of 4.5 and higher: Use in all 4 seasons and in extreme conditions (glacier, far north and high altitudes)
Tips for sleeping well on your mattress
Once you are lying down, remember to adjust the inflation pressure of the mattress by slightly pressing the IN valve (open cap). A mattress that is too hard is often synonymous with discomfort.Silicone patches on the top of the mattress are designed to reduce the sliding of your sleeping bag on the mattress.
Additional sustainable development information
Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce the environmental impact of this model, we chose to use a dyeing process called "bi-ton" which involves dyeing one out of every two yarns. This dyed yarn is also made from a bulk dyeing process which incorporates the colour pigments from the yarn manufacturing phase onwards. This process reduces the CO2 emissions of this product.
How to repair a leaky mattress
An inflatable mattress is not puncture-proof, but it can be repaired! When using it, take every care when installing and handling it.In the event of a problem, we recommend using self-adhesive repair patches (ref: 8557113).For more information, copy the following link into your browser:https://www.forclaz.co.uk
Product Reviews
I love this camping mat - compact, light and comfortable - perfect for motorbike trips. It takes up hardly any room which is great. Always get a comfortable night sleep - losing the bottom third of the length of a tradition mattress is genius - don't need it. The space and weight savings are great.
Have brought two inflate easy and deflate is a little harder to get all air so packing back into bag may take some time I just folded flat and stored with ground sheet at 20 stone in weight they seem ok have only just started to use them tried them with ground sheet two air mattress two sleeping bag and winter clothes outside seem ok did get some sleep
Incredibly small when packed away! Takes less than a minute to inflate by blowing into the Correct inflation plug.. thereare two plugs so check which is which before use. Make sure that the DEflation plug is in securely, otherwise you will find it slowly goes soft during the night. How comfortable you like it depends on how much air you blow into it, so you will need to experiment. My first use I made it too hard and bounced around like a trampoline. Removing the deflation plug slightly will allow slow release. Removing it fully causes quicker deflation, instant if you happen to be lying on it. packs up incredibly small to fit into your jacket pocket,
