Our design teams developed these running socks to protect your feet from blisters when you are out running.

Why are there 5 toes? Finely knitted with anti-fiction thread, these running socks protect your toes to prevent them from irritating each other during your running outings.

5 toes

the five toes of the foot are kept apart by a very fine anti-friction thread that reduces irritation when they rub against each other.

Anti-friction yarn zoning

with the DECATHLON Sportslab (our R&D department), we have superimposed the map of perspiration rates during physical exercise with that of potential blistering when running in order to put the anti-friction yarn in the right areas. On this model, it starts at the heel, goes through the midfoot arch and finishes on each toe with the aim of reducing chafing.

Knit design

with the DECATHLON Sportslab (our R&D department), we have superimposed the map of perspiration rates during physical exercise with that of potential blistering when running in order to put the air cooling areas and reinforcements in the ideal areas.

Extra sustainable development information

The black/red and black/yellow models are woven with dope-dyed yarn.Dying textiles requires a lot of water but produces a lot of waste water from dye baths. In order to reduce this impact on the environment, we have chosen to use dope-dying, with the colour pigments integrated as the yarn is manufactured.

Working out well

Good quality & comfortable. I’ve spent some long days in them around the house and working. Feel they will be good for runs with or without five finger shoes.

bit small, can take some getting used to on the toes, needed XL although I am a 9 or the toes were too tight.

Worth a try

I wear toe socks regularly, having bought in to the whole barefoot/minimalist idea on discovering that I have a bunion. Also because my big toe would rapidly gouge a hole in regular socks and I liked the idea that the sock toes would move with - rather than against - the toe. I have paid for a leading brand and cheap Chinese. The former were expensive, comfortable and developed holes quite quickly; the Chinese shredded rapidly. I tried these Decathlon socks and now own half a dozen pairs. No holes so far. They are relatively thick and robustly made. The one downside is that they have a wide elasticated band over the top of what I would call the midfoot and this can make the foot feel a little compressed. I take a size 9 (UK) shoe and wear them with safety shoes for active 10 hour shifts and I'm always grateful to take them off but I can't say that they're uncomfortable when wearing them. Like all toe socks they're a bit awkward to get on compared to ordinary socks but it gets easier once you develop a technique - open up the toes with a finger for starters and try putting the sock on the end of your foot and sliding your foot forward on the ground!
